WHAT IS THE TOLL BOOTH PROJECT?
When the Founders of The Toll Booth Project reflected on how to use their wealth for good they were inspired as a family to reflect on how they wanted to give back to the world. They decided that they wanted to provide an unexpected lift to individuals who inspired them by the way they live their lives spreading good energy to those around them.
This award is called The Toll Booth Project Award because when the Founders were a young couple they started a practice of paying for the car behind them at the toll booth. The founders have continued the “pay it forward” mentality as part of their family values.
The Toll Both Project does not accept applications or open nominations. All gifts are given with no prior knowledge of the individual receiving the gift until it is given.
All Toll Booth Project Awardees are also given the opportunity to pay it forward by nominating another individual to also receive an unexpected gift.
All taxes incurred by Toll Booth Project Award Winners are paid by the Founders and winners also receive a year of financial planning and tax preparation assistance to support them in utilization of their gift.

The Founders created criteria for The Toll Booth Project Award and identify individuals that epitomize the spirit of the Award.
A TOLL BOOTH PROJECT AWARD WINNER:
Demonstrates hard work and grit
Has a track record of taking action to help or lift others
Is humble and authentic in their work
Has overcome barriers and demonstrates tenacity in the face of challenge
Is motivated by an inner desire to make things better in our world
Would experience significant positive impacts if they received an unexpected no strings attached financial gift
